I have been in the Travel Industry since I was 19 (half my life). I started off as an overseas rep, before moving into retail agencies where i spent many years in different roles, my final one as an area manager for 10 retail shops.
My official job title is now "Sales & Operations Manager". I oversee the running of Protected Travel Shops & PTS Worldwide. I manage people, help to drive sales and the back office daily operations. Sometimes you might even find me selling holidays on the shop floor or counting out currency from our Bureaus.
Everyday is different for me: I love spending a day in one of the shops, witnessing great service, interacting and listening to feedback from our customers and seeing my staff bring holidays and dreams to life. Being an independent travel agency means i get the opportunity to attend meetings with new suppliers which will benefit the business , it also gives me chance to number crunch and plan future events with one our preferred suppliers to ensure our offering as an Independent agent is up there with the best.
